FAQ

Frequently asked

Answers to what patients ask most before booking.

Is LASIK painful?

It is done under anaesthetic drops and takes a few minutes per eye. You feel only mild pressure, with some limited burning in the first hours.

When can I go back to work?

Most patients return within 24 to 48 hours, provided they use their drops and avoid dust and long screen sessions for the first two days.

Who is a candidate for LASIK?

Eighteen or older, a stable prescription for a year, sufficient corneal thickness and no keratoconus on examination. The work-up decides.

Femto-LASIK or SMILE Pro?

Femto-LASIK lifts a thin flap and treats beneath it. SMILE Pro works through a small incision with no flap, which suits certain cases and dry-eye patients.

How long does SMILE Pro take?

The laser step itself takes seconds per eye, and the whole session in theatre is a matter of minutes. The preparation and work-up beforehand take the greater part of the time.

Does SMILE Pro reduce dry eye?

Because it creates no corneal flap, it disturbs the surface nerves less — which makes dry eye less likely afterwards than with flap-based methods.

Is the result permanent?

The correction itself is permanent, but eyes change with age — reading power after forty in particular, which is separate from the procedure.

When is an implant better than LASIK?

With high refractive errors, thin corneas, or a cornea unsuitable for laser treatment. The lens goes inside the eye and the cornea stays intact.

Does cataract surgery need admission?

No. It is a day procedure under local anaesthesia; you go home the same day with a drop regimen and early follow-up.

Can keratoconus be treated with LASIK?

No. Treatment begins with cross-linking or rings depending on the stage; correcting vision is considered only once the cornea is stable.

What does LASIK cost now?

Current offers on LASIK of all types and on examinations are published on the offers page of this site. The work-up confirms the right procedure and its final cost — please confirm offer details by phone before booking.

When should I book an exam?

If distance or near vision is difficult, headaches recur without cause, your eyes tire after reading, or vision blurs or doubles. Examining early keeps a small problem small.

How do I book?

On WhatsApp, or by calling the booking numbers at either branch. Urgent cases have a separate emergency line, available around the clock.

Content on this site is general health information only and is not a substitute for a medical examination. The right procedure for you is determined after an in-clinic eye examination and assessment.
